Descendants of JACOB and ELIZABETH MOCK
of Union Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania

This document is an attempt to shed light on the descended families of Jacob and Elizabeth Mock. It is a work in progress and the information includes estimates and possible errors. It should not be copied without consulting additional records and documentation. I would love to hear from anyone who can help document this extended family.

1 - Jacob Mock b. ca 1754 Unknown; d.1810, Union twp, Berks Co., PA; married. Elizabeth ___ b. ca 1760 Unknown; d.1828, Union twp, Berks Co., PA; Will of Jacob Mock dated March 7, 1805, proven March 1, 1810; nine children noted in will; seven children named in will and subsequent court records. Refer to additional documentation. He may be the Jacob Mock who had a land warrantee of 10 acres of land in Union twp, Berks County dated Feburary 9, 1788. He was likely one of the two Jacob Macks listed in Union township according to the 1790 census, and definitely one of the two Jacob Mocks listed in that township in 1800.

1.1 - John Mock b. abt. February 23, 1784 Pennsylvania; d. aft. 1832; Living in Caernarvon twp in 1810; and in Robeson twp in 1820. Mentioned in his father's will and in court records related to the death of his mother. He was likely the John Mock who married Rachel Chestnutwood on October 18, 1804, as recorded in the docket of Mathias Kaler, Justice for the Fifth District of Berks, PA.   Notes: The 5th judicial district composed the townships of Union, Robeson and Caernarvon townships. Mathias Kaler was a Justice of the Peace, commissioned by Governor Mifflin, October 26, 1791, and whose residence was in Robeson township. Mathias Kaler was also a signer on the 1805 Last Will and Testament of Jacob Mock of Union twp. The names and birth dates of John and Rachel's first two sons are cited in a document at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania.
For additional speculation on the possible family of John and Rachel Mock, see John Mock and Rachel Chestnutwood.
